Upscale seafood chain Water Grill came to town early last year and has been a big hit. With its successes in its first year and a half, the company has decided to expand the space and do some renovations, records show.

A commercial construction permit was filed with the city stating Water Grill’s plans. They include adding two private banquet rooms, incorporating new lighting and fixtures, and relocating the liquor storage and office to remodel the kitchen and men’s restroom.

Records show the company is working with Robinson Hill Architecture on the project. A landmark review will be required due to the property’s location “within the boundaries of a designated Landmark or Landmark District.”

Water Grill is a chain that serves elevated finfish, shellfish, lobster, crab, and oyster offerings in an elegant setting. Locations have saltwater tanks and menus updated twice daily.
