Indoor pickleball chain The Picklr appears to be heading to Jessup Farm Artisan Village in Fort Collins.

The Picklr, which started in Utah, is a membership-based pickleball chain that provides courts, leagues and clinics for members to access. It also serves grab-and-go food and beverages at its facilities.

Plans show that the 27,000-square-foot facility will have 10 indoor courts. The building would be constructed on the land to the northeast of the Jessup Farm Artisan Village’s main hub of restaurants and shops, according to The Coloradoan

As of now, construction has not started, but developers are hoping to get the project underway in three to five months. The Picklr location would likely open in late 2025 or early 2026.

The new project comes in the wake of an August announcement that Fort Collins-based Colorado Pickleball ADA LLC, the group that inked a deal last year to bring The Picklr to the Colorado and Cheyenne markets, has sold 15 franchise spots along the Front Range. The group, which consists of Colorado businessmen Jim Lautzenheiser, Chad Preiss and Randy Halfpop and professional pickleball player Kyle Yates, owns The Picklr Loveland in Colorado and plans to add five more spots that they will own in the local market.

Three Picklr locations are expected to open along the Front Range in 2024, with another four to six in 2025. The next spot lined up to open is in Thornton, according to The Picklr website.

This growth is part of a larger vision for The Picklr, which announced that it has awarded more than 300 franchises now across the country.

“Our goal is to make Colorado a great place for everyone to play pickleball, and we are in a period where we expect rapid expansion,” Preiss said in a release earlier this year. “Our top-quality courts provide a professional-caliber indoor facility that makes it easy for new players to learn and experienced players to grow through challenging play, coaching, tournaments and leagues.”
