K1 Speed, an American go-kart racetrack franchise based in Irvine, is preparing to open a new location in Culver City at 3960 Landmark St.
The company proposed converting a 34,049-square-foot building at this location late last year and recently submitted a liquor license application for its on-site restaurant, Paddock Lounge. A representative from the company tells What Now Los Angeles that this K1 Speed is expected to open sometime in April 2025. It will offer electric indoor go-kart racing and plenty of food and drink options. This will be the third K1 Speed in Los Angeles, following Burbank and Torrance.
This isn’t the only location the company is working on, as K1 Speed appears to be expanding throughout the country. In addition to the new Culver City location, the company is opening new sites in Colorado, Georgia, New Jersey, South Carolina, and Texas. Internationally, K1 Speed is working on opening new locations in Canada, France, and Scotland. All locations offer the same exciting experiences, including virtual and augmented reality gaming.
When guests aren’t experiencing the thrill of go-kart racing, they’re encouraged to refuel at the Paddock Lounge, which isn’t a typical karting concession stand. The eatery at K1 Speed is closer to a full-fledged restaurant-style lounge where racers can recharge before, in between, or after racing sessions. The menu has various options for the entire family, from mouthwatering pizza and wings to crave-worthy smoked brisket nachos and burnt ends bratwurst. Paddock Lounge also offers chocolate lava cake, freshly baked cookies for dessert, and chips for a quick snack.
The Paddock Lounge at K1 Speed also boasts an extensive beverage menu. For those under 21 years of age, the concept offers sodas, teas, water, Gatorade, and Red Bull energy drinks. Once an adult (21 years old or older) has finished racing for the day, they can enjoy a wide selection of beer and wine—including popular domestics, imports, craft beer, and red and white wines kept at the correct temperature.
