A brand new golf-inspired concept called Arnold Palmer’s CenterCup is preparing to debut later this year in Gainesville.
Arnold Palmer Enterprises has signed a licensing deal with Tampa-based 23 Restaurant Services to create a dining and entertainment concept, according to Jacksonville Business Journal. The company will open its first location in the Butler Town Center, followed by sites in Jacksonville and Panama City. Marc Brown, president of 23 Restaurant Services, says the company will start with five to six locations in Florida but sees potential for up to 100 across the U.S.
There is no exact opening date for the new Arnold Palmer’s CenterCup, but the concept will sit on 4 acres, featuring an 11,000-square-foot restaurant and a 19,000-square-foot covered outdoor activity area with golf, cornhole, billiards, and more. 23 Restaurant Services will continue to look for sites throughout Florida, with the concept able to sit on a site as small as 2.9 acres.
23 Restaurant Services will be a great hospitality company to honor the late golfer and his enterprise’s vision for the concept. Before this, the company turned Ford Motor Co.’s brand into a sit-down service-station-themed restaurant with 24 locations and seven more in development. The hospitality group also owns Yeoman’s Cask and Lion, Don the Beachcomber, and Tiki Docks Bar and Grill.
“Our history with Ford Motor Co. has helped pave the way toward doing Arnold Palmer’s CenterCup,” Brown tells the Business Journal. “We also have a licensing agreement with TopGolf for [virtual suites at] Yeoman’s Cask and Lion. We want to do more of this.”
