A new coffee destination is brewing in Arlington, with plans to welcome guests in February 2024. Situated at 805 Massachusetts Ave, Alta Coffee Roasters is the brainchild of owner Jason Montano, a military veteran with a deep passion for coffee.
Drawing inspiration from the high-altitude regions where the finest coffee beans flourish, Alta Coffee Roasters captures the essence of the ‘Alta’ mountain ambiance. The menu features an array of single-origin coffees and seasonal espresso blends, all readily available for takeout in a warm and rustic setting. Additionally, the shop has plans to introduce artisanal beverages and locally sourced snacks.
Montano’s vision is driven by his love for the community, but his inspiration extends beyond the local coffee scene. After immersing himself in coffee culture on various South American farms, his experiences abroad motivated him to open the Arlington roastery.
What truly sets Alta Coffee Roasters apart, however, is its steadfast commitment to sustainability. Motivated by the environmental toll of plastic waste he encountered throughout his travels, Montano is dedicated to using compostable coffee bags and eco-friendly packaging alternatives. He envisions a direct sourcing model that fosters lasting relationships with coffee farmers in South America and Asia, ensuring both superior product quality and a unique story behind each bean.
Alta Coffee Roasters is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a testament to Montano’s commitment to sustainability, quality, and community. To stay updated on future developments, follow the shop on Instagram and X.
