Exciting news is on the rise for donut enthusiasts—The Donut Stand’s first standalone establishment will soon open in Hopkinton at 22 South St Suite 102, nestled in the space formerly occupied by Bison Burger. Currently operating within The Vin Bin wine and cheese store in Southborough, this forthcoming independent shop is set to redefine the local baking scene. Owners Hannah and Mike Lombardi are targeting a late January or early February 2024 opening date—perhaps even on Superbowl Sunday.
The Lombardis envision an inviting, open-concept space where patrons can witness the baking magic unfold. Described as “upscale, funky, and bright,” the interior will feature a captivating display of delectable donuts behind expansive glass separation walls. Collaborating with Hopkinton High School, the duo is bringing art into the mix, adorning the walls with vibrant depictions of food, culture, and community.
The menu was crafted with simple, high-quality comfort in mind, allowing guests to savor honest ingredients, even in the realm of donuts. “Our food should be fuel,” the owners emphasize. Handcrafted donuts will take the spotlight, but the menu extends its allure with offerings such as breakfast sandwiches, pastries, artisan sandwiches, salads, and more. Emphasizing a commitment to seasonality, the ingredients will be thoughtfully sourced from local farmers and purveyors spanning the rich landscapes of New England and New York.
As the Lombardis excitedly prepare to welcome patrons into their upcoming baking haven, The Donut Stand promises not just tasty treats but also a strong sense of local community within its walls. Stay tuned for updates on the grand opening of this eagerly awaited donut destination, where the aroma of freshly baked sweets and the warmth of shared moments converge.
