Two of Detroit’s top chefs are joining forces for a new restaurant coming in 2024. Chef Davante Burnley from Host Utica and Chef Dominic McCord from Petty Cash have been planning a new restaurant called Arrie to enter the Harmonie Park area in 2024.
Until now, the duo has been going around town with Arrie as a pop-up concept, providing a sneak peek into the upcoming concept. The new restaurant will feature southern fusion cuisine exploring the significant contributions black and brown people made to developing high-end dining and craft cocktails.
Showcasing the duo’s rich American heritage through art, music, food, and cocktails, Arrie strikes to provide an immersive experience that transports guests to a bygone era enriched with culture and traditions. “Chef Davante and I have known each other for years through our careers, but only started partnering up over the past year or so. He was the brain and soul behind Arrie, while I focused on operations,” Chef Mccord told What Now Detroit over the phone.
Arrie is set to open in early 2024 in Paradise Valley Cultural and Entertainment District, bordering East Grand River, Centre, and Randolph. The district highlights African-American arts and culture, and black-owned businesses. Those who do not want to wait can book the duo for an Arrie pop-up to get a taste of the innovative and passionate menu.
