Is Detroit getting a new hidden bar? It is. According to a recent press release, an unadorned alleyway off Woodward Ave will soon lead to Detroit’s most intimate room, Saksey’s Cocktail Lounge. The new cocktail lounge will be located on the ground floor of Gilly’s Clubhouse & Rooftop. Saksey’s is anticipated in the spring.

Detroit-based interior design firm POPHOUSE, led by Jennifer Gilbert, created Saksey’s meticulous design, featuring “lacquered woods, adventurous patterns, and a refined lighting design,” according to the release. The exclusive dining area and bar contains eight tables and 55 seats, ensuring an intimate experience.

Saksey’s is a reflection of 7OH2 Hospitality‘s founder, Josh Lang‘s vision. “Saksey’s is designed to provide an experience that connects people,” Lang said in the press release. “I want guests to come in, try a little of everything on the menu, sit back and spend time with the people they love. Intimacy is a product of those you share it with. This room is built for intimate moments.”

Saksey’s is slated to open in Spring 2024. The new cocktail lounge’s menu is created by award-winning Eric Hobbie, winner of multiple national cocktail competitions and Las Vegas’s Most Intriguing Mixologist in 2019. The new lounge will also have live performances to elevate the guest experience to the next level.

“Saksey’s doesn’t just host a show, the guest experience is the show,” said Lang in the press release “Whether it’s crafting cocktails tableside or delivering our mouthwatering sharable plates, there is an incredible amount of thought in every detail of this beautiful space.”
