Nanu’s Hot Chicken Grand Opens New Location In West Chester, Chester County With Huge Food Giveaway And Celebration

Nanu’s Hot Chicken had its grand opening and cut the red ribbon for the first location in Chester County on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 315 S. High Street. Owners and founders Ikram and Imran Rashid join forces with two first-time Nanu’s owners for new her-son Amjad and Jawad Ali to bring the hot chicken sandwiches to the Western Suburbs! Opening festivities included a red ribbon cutting ceremony with prizes, DJ and more. Nanu’s in West Chester is the first two-story Nanu’s with expansive seating for over 50 people to start, with more to be added later, plus an outdoor patio and shaded backyard. Store hours will be Monday through Sunday, seven days a week, from 10:00am to 11:00pm. Nanu’s also announced it expanded to Delaware with a new location now open in Wilmington at 414 N Union Street.

“West Chester, come and get it! Nanu’s is bringing the heat to our neighbors, students and faculty,” said Imran in a statement. “We have had so many requests for Nanu’s in West Chester and Chester County. We found the perfect location at the perfect intersection to bring together West Chester locals and the West Chester University staff/students. We can’t wait to welcome all of our neighbors and new friends. We also are excited to work with fellow businesses/ community groups to get involved in the area around our newest home.”

Nanu’s Hot Chicken is crafted with love and care. The menu features halal Nashville style hot chicken tenders, sandwiches, loaded fries, sides, desserts, smoothies and catering options. Guests are invited to test their taste buds with homemade spice-coated chicken tenders ranging from no spice to reaper, in regular or hot honey.

Nanu’s was created by four brothers who had a dream to make real change happen in the world and who had a passion for helping those in need, including Nanu, who was born with Down Syndrome. Imran, Ikram, Haroon and Nanu Rashid created Nanu’s in 2023 and opened their first location at 2210 Cottman Avenue in July of that year.

The brothers started the first location, then decided to expand the business, and began searching for partners. Muhammad Faisal was the first to join their team. Faisal now owns three locations – starting with 3301 Market Street aka Drexel University in Philadelphia, which opened in December 2023. He went on to open 4407 Chestnut Street in April 2024. Faisal now also owns the recently opened Bucks County location.

For the new West Chester location, Ikram and Imran have now teamed up with two new Nanu’s partners (and cousins) – Amjad and Jawad Ali. Amjad has worked in the food business since 2010, selling chicken/lamb and rice, and over the same time and early years Ikram and Imran were working in hot chicken. They were all talking at family dinners about working together and swapping stories of the food industry and decided to go into business together for this location.

Amjad had visited West Chester University and West Chester for the first time dating back to 2018. At that time he was in a lease in Philadelphia and aimed to open in West Chester later in life. When the four discussed opening the newest Nanu’s, Amjad liked the available location and its location as a food hub with lots of restaurants. They saw themselves being here and part of this community for many years to come.

For the location itself, look for take-out, delivery and dine-in. The entire space features 4,000 square feet with a first floor dining room has seating for over 30 people (with room for more to be added) and the second floor dining room has seating for 20 (with room for more to be added) at colorful tables and chairs to complement the giant 270 degree art murals, the finished product is an Instagram-worthy backdrop with nods to Philadelphia which include shout-outs to the greater Philadelphia region and Philly iconography. Overhead, look for a solar system inspired ceiling because the food is out of this world!

Look for the backyard to open with the same elite, colorful and bold vibes as the inside, with a covered shaded patio and seating for up to 20+ people.

Including the new West Chester (and Wilmington, Delaware) restaurants, Nanu’s has quickly grown to include eleven locations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York, with a twelfth and thirteenth on the way in a few weeks and months – stay tuned for details for two more locations to come by spring and summer.
