Retailer files plans for first Georgia brick and mortar store that doesn’t actually sell anything.

Bonobos, an e-commerce-driven apparel company headquartered in New York City that designs and sells men’s clothing, could open its first Georgia “Guideshop” in Buckhead.

The retailer of men’s pants, suits, denim, shirts, shorts, swim and outerwear, submitted a building permit application to City of Atlanta Monday for commercial alterations to space for one of its clothing stores that doesn’t actually sell anything.

The Guideshop, just shy of 1,200 square feet, would be a place for customers to try merchandise on for size, get styling advice from “ninjas,” and create their wardrobe, but whatever they want to buy has to be ordered from the Bonobos website.

Bonobos has already started the hiring process for its new Atlanta Guideshop. The men’s clothier posted several job openings to its website, including a store manager position.

“Bonobos is opening a Guideshop in Atlanta and we are seeking an experienced Manager who can lead our team of Guides to provide the best in-person shopping experience to our awesome clientele,” according to the listing.

An estimated $108,000 will be spent in interior alteration to space in the soon-to-open Buckhead Atlanta development at 3065 Peachtree Road for the new Bonobos store, according to the permit application.

In addition to selling its merchandise online, Bonobos is available at select Nordstrom locations throughout the country, according to the retailer’s website.
