A closed home goods store in Lawrenceville could be getting a makeover.

Burlington is planned for the space formerly occupied by Badcock Home Furniture &more, according to a building permit application with Gwinnett County.

The 20,420-square-foot space at 860 Duluth Highway is part of the Village Shoppes at Creekside shopping center, next to Harbor Freight. The two-phase shopping center is managed by 5Rivers CRE. According to LoopNet, the shopping center was built 2006.

According to the building permit application for the proposed Burlington, the only exterior work on the site would be squaring off the existing parapet and painting the front facade.

Burlington was formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory before a rebrand that was intended to emphasize that the stores have more than coats, including other apparel, accessories, home goods and more. There are more than 1,000 stores nationwide.

Lawrenceville is not the only area where Burlington appears to be growing. A store has also been proposed for Brookhaven at Northeast Plaza. Burlington has also been taking over former Bed Bath and Beyond locations, including several in Georgia.
