Midtown could soon to be home to a second Whole Foods Market and the largest in the metro-area, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle (ABC).
The supermarket chain specializing in organic food since 1980 could take a 60,000-square-foot space in a planned residential tower at 14th and West Peachtree Streets, the report notes.
Whole Foods is reportedly in talks with Miami’s The Related Group to be located in the forthcoming development “22 Fourteenth Street” comprised of two towers, 400 residential units, built in phases.
If all goes as planned, the supermarket would open in 2018.
Darrah Gist, a company spokesperson, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email Wednesday there are no concrete plans.
“We are always looking for new sites,” Gist said. “We have not signed any leases in Midtown.”
Whole Foods has a location across from Ponce City Market in the Midtown Place shopping center.

Are you kidding SS? Midtown certainly does extend east of Piedmont Ave. Did you somehow forget about the residential area between Piedmont Ave, 10th St, Ponce de Leon Ave and Monroe Dr?
I guess Midtown Promenade has been wrongly placed at Monroe and Virginia for decades, not to mention all of Piedmont Park which lies east of Piedmont. http://www.midtownatlanta.org/maps/
