A new mixed-use development planned for 2333 Metropolitan Parkway is set to bring more affordable housing to south Atlanta.

The Metropolitan Place project will have 176 residential units and about 1,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, Urbanize Atlanta reports. Planned amenities include a fitness center, clubhouse and picnic area.

Most of the units would be for residents earning 60 percent or less of the area median income (AMI), according to the news outlet. Construction is expected to begin later this year, with an expected delivery in 2025.

Construction documents for the multibuilding development indicate that the structures will be four stories and include one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

The Paces Foundation, a Smyrna-based nonprofit organization focused on affordable housing, and Soho Housing Partners are listed as the developers of the project. The two organizations announced in 2020 that they would be entering into a strategic partnership.
