Latitude 33 Brewing Company, a notable name in San Diego’s craft beer scene, is preparing to open a new location in Del Mar at 12841 El Camino Real, Suite 301-303.

The company’s newest location is set to move into the former home of Northern Pine Brewing on the second floor of the Sky Deck at Del Mar Highlands Town Center, according to a recent liquor license application that SanDiegoville recently reported. Northern Pine Brewing also recently announced the closure of its Oceanside location at 326 N. Horne Street after seven years, following a dispute with its landlords over the sale of its kitchen. Latitude 33 Brewing will take its Del Mar space, which is expected to open later this year, although an exact opening date is unknown. This proves to be another impressive step for the company, considering last year Latitude 33 acquired Thorn Brewing, a San Diego-based brewery with locations in North Park and Barrio Logan, further establishing itself in San Diego’s crowded beer scene.

Latitude 33 Brewing Company was founded in 2012 by brewmaster Kevin Buckley in Vista, where it gained early attention for its experimental beers. In 2014, entrepreneur Mike Ingram acquired the company and shifted its focus to high-volume core brands, leading to the launch of its flagship Blood Orange IPA, one of San Diego’s most popular craft beers. By 2018, the brewery reached its production capacity and, in a strategic move, sold its Vista facility to Local Roots Kombucha in 2019, transitioning to contract brewing at Green Flash Brewing’s Miramar location. Today, Latitude 33 remains a key player in San Diego’s craft beer scene, known for its bold, hop-forward brews and continued innovation.

When the new Del Mar location opens later this year, customers can expect the brewery’s delicious beer selection in a welcoming space. Latitude 33 Brewing is known for its Blood Orange IPA, a citrus-forward beer that’s become a local favorite. Other core offerings include Blonde Cartel, a light golden ale, Breakfast Stout, and an oatmeal coffee stout. The brewery also produces Vanilla’s Porter and seasonal releases like the Fiesta Island Key Lime Pie IPA. In addition to beer, Latitude 33 offers a Blood Orange Hard Seltzer as a lighter, low-calorie option. Latitude 33 will join several tenants already at the Sky Deck, including Ambrogio15, Understory, Craft House, Marufuku Ramen, Kiin Extraordinary Thai, Glass Box, J at Sky Deck, Le Parfait Paris, and more.
