A new kabob concept called Kabob Corner is set to make its debut in Artesia at 18620-18622 Pioneer Blvd.
This is the latest from Venkatesh Koka, a prominent figure in the development and promotion of the Little India Village shopping plaza in Artesia, according to a recent liquor license application. Details regarding menu offerings and opening dates have not been determined yet. In addition to his work with the Little India Village shopping plaza, Venkatesh Koka is actively involved in several business ventures based in Artesia.
In the early 2000s, when efforts to officially designate the area with freeway signs were stalled due to city opposition, Koka took matters into his own hands. Through California’s Adopt-A-Highway program, he secured permission to install signs along the 91 and 605 freeways, proudly displaying “Krishna Koka’s Little India Village” to honor his father’s legacy and business.
He also serves as the registered agent for multiple limited liability companies, all of which are headquartered at 18300 Pioneer Boulevard. These include 186th & Arline, LLC, Maya Koka Properties, LLC, Maya Seaside Walk, LLC, and Ocean & 19th Place, LLC. These ventures highlight Koka’s ongoing commitment to the economic development and revitalization of the Artesia area, particularly the Little India district.
This new concept will be strategically positioned within the heart of Little India, a vibrant commercial district known for its high foot traffic. Nearby establishments such as Pioneer Cash & Carry, Apna Bazaar, and Surati Farsan attract a steady stream of customers seeking Indian groceries and cuisine. Additionally, the planned Pioneer Metro Rail station, expected to open in 2035, will further enhance accessibility, potentially increasing pedestrian traffic to the area.
