Chase Sinzer and Joshua Pinksy, the team behind fellow East Village spots Claud and Penny, have filed liquor license paperwork for a potential new concept. They are seeking to open a new wine bar called Cache on the ground floor at 139 East 12th Street.
The spot was last home to taco spot Tacombi, which closed in September.
The proposed food menu for Cache includes small plates like bread, marinated artichokes, robiola, coppa and roasted peppers, and fennel salad. Plans call for four tables that would seat 14 and one bar that would seat four, according to the paperwork. The proposed hours of operation are 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
Sinzer and Pinksy launched European-inspired bistro Claud in the East Village in 2023, and they opened its neighboring concept Penny in 2024. Penny serves as a raw bar and seafood counter, and it offers a wine list.
A spokesperson for the team told What Now New York in an email that they are still in the early stages of developing the concept for Cache and that a lease is still to come. A potential opening timeline is not available at this time.
