Entrepreneur Hannah Schneider is bringing Kettner Coffee back to the city this summer. It has plans to open in plant and lifestyle brand Jade & Clover at 815 Old Division Street this summer, according to a release.
Kettner Coffee has been absent from the Nashville scene since it sold its East Nashville flagship in 2022. Kettner Coffee is known for its high-quality beans and its welcoming atmosphere. Customers can expect the return of its bold brand voice, with cups featuring phrases like “will trade cold heart for hot coffee” and “high standards low morals.”
Giselle Ruggeberg opened Jade & Clover almost a decade ago, expanding the Dallas-based brand to multiple locations. It features custom plant installations and a plant bar that allows customers to build their own arrangements and terrarium.
“My goal has always been dedicated to the customer and how they felt when they walked through our doors, so partnering with Giselle and Jade & Clover made total sense for Kettner. We both come from the hospitality space and value customer experience and inclusivity over everything,” Schneider said in the release. “The Gulch is an ideal place to reintroduce this brand that I built from the ground up to a whole new crowd of coffee lovers. Popping up in such a bustling neighborhood is so exciting and partnering with another female business owner makes this next chapter that much sweeter! I’m thrilled to have such a welcoming space to call Kettner’s new home. I hope we can make you laugh, make you smile or just be a few minutes of positivity throughout your day.”
Ruggeberg views the partnership as a natural connection between coffee and plants.
“What better way to explore the world of Jade & Clover and to fall in love with our natural offerings than with a cup of coffee in hand?” says Ruggeberg. “I am now a proud Nashville resident and am excited about the coffee culture this city has. We offer an immersive, sensory boutique experience and collaborating with another local woman-owned operator is a dream come true.”
Kettner Coffee will offer rotating espresso options, featuring beans from local spots like 8th and Roast. Other offerings will include matcha and pastries, with gluten-free and vegan options.
Aside from Kettner Coffee, Schneider has found success in media relations and communications. She built digital and creative agency BRND House, which she sold in 2023.
