Whale Face Grub and Grog, a new food and drink concept from Brendan Megowan, is preparing to open at 2154 Pacific Avenue in Long Beach.

Megowan, who is also the CEO of Whale Face Beer, describes the project as a neighborhood-focused restaurant serving up inauthentic island food in a laid-back setting.

While brewing will not take place on-site, Whale Face plans to contract brew its beer from various sources. The company also intends to develop its own non-alcoholic beer offerings.

The space aims to be a welcoming, community-driven destination. Details about the opening date are still forthcoming.

Editorial Note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Whale Face was affiliated with Strand Brewing Company and that the business was opening a taproom in downtown Los Angeles. It also mischaracterized the concept as a taproom rather than a restaurant.
