June brought a wave of culinary closures across L.A. From noodle and coffee spots to fine-dining restaurants, multiple establishments closed their doors. Some popular names are La Azteza Tortilleria, Here’s Looking at You, and Bang Bang Noodles.

Four L.A. Food Establishments Closed in June 2025

L.A. experienced a string of shutdowns in the food and dining space in June 2025. Some names that ended their food operations for good are given below.

Bang Bang Noodles

Through an Instagram announcement on June 30, the noodle place declared its closure in Culver City. Bang Bang Noodles bid adieu to L.A. by the end of last month. However, the noodle establishment did not give an explanation for its abrupt shutdown.

The good news for noodle lovers in L.A. is that the Chinese food place will keep serving its delicacies at the DTLA location.

Bang Bang Noodles sources its inspiration from the flavors of China’s Shaanxi Province. Its owners, Robert Lee and Nelson Lee, blend modern techniques while hand-pulling the noodles. The highlight items are Tingling Cumin DRY, Xi’an Tomato, and Cold Chili Cucumbers.

Verve Coffee Roasters

Verve Coffee Roasters announced the news regarding its closure through an Instagram post. The 2007-launched coffee brand shut its doors at Spring Street on June 1. It said the changing Downtown made it unsustainable at the location.

Verve Coffee Roasters will keep serving coffee lovers at its other addresses in L.A.

Set up by Ryan O’Donovan and Colby Barr, the coffee establishment has offered its services at the Spring Street location since 2015. Through the years, Verve Coffee Roasters served the L.A. crowd with refreshing items like macchiato and Americano.

Here’s Looking at You

The Koreatown restaurant served its final meal on June 13. Here’s Looking at You announced its closure in a goodbye post. The L.A. food establishment did not state a definite reason behind its closure.

The development came after Here’s Looking at You sustained a rough patch during COVID when it shut down for a brief period.

After reopening, the Koreatown restaurant was listed in the New York Times’ “The Restaurant List: 50 Restaurants in America We’re Most Excited About” in 2022. In the same year, the 2016-launched restaurant was a semi-finalist in the ‘Outstanding Hospitality’ category at the James Beard Awards.

Elf Cafe

Elf Cafe announced it would close its Echo Park location on June 1. The post did not reveal any reason why the Elf Cafe closed its doors last month.

As of now, the L.A. food establishment has not stated anything about its comeback.

The departure of the Elf Cafe comes after its 19 years of culinary offerings in Echo Park. Patrons visited the place for food items like Buffalo Oyster Mushrooms and Costilla de Borrego. Drinks at Elf Cafe included tahini-infused Freddo Corretto and Greek-style iced coffee.

While the popular food establishments are bidding adieu, some will continue offering at a different location, allowing the L.A. culinary world to normalize amid closures.
