A burger and hot dog joint that has been around for 20 years is expanding to the suburbs this August.
The new Redhot Ranch will be in the same space as Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store at 4811 Dempster Street in Skokie, per an article from Eater Chicago. This follows the businesses working together to move into the space which once was That Burger Joint. According to Redhot Ranch owner Jeff Greenfield, this was a surprise opportunity for his company.
“We weren’t planning a new location; something came up that just sounded like a very good situation,” Greenfield told What Now Chicago.
Redhot Ranch currently has two locations at 2449 W Armitage Avenue in Bucktown and at 3057 N Ashland Avenue in Lakeview. They are known for their Chicago-style burger and fries, hot dog and double dog. Redot also offers an Alaskan cod fish sandwich, fried shrimp and shakes.
According to Greenfield, the new location is set to open in early August. It will be at the corner of Niles Center Road and on the same side of the road as Kaufman’s Bagel & Delicatessen. The hours of operation haven’t been released yet.
When considering the new business opportunity, Greenfield realized having their signature double cheeseburger alongside Oberwies’ ice cream would be “heaven.” For more information, visit their website redhotranchchicago.com.
