For 12 years, owner and chef Alisa Reynolds has been serving the neighborhood with delicious soul food. The restaurant earned a loyal following with its flavorful Southern dishes that brought a taste of comfort to the heart of L.A. But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. My 2 Cents will officially close its dine-in service by July 31, 2025.

In a heartfelt social media post, Reynolds reflected on the journey and thanked the community for 12 years of support. While the doors to My 2 Cents are closing, this is not the end of Alisa’s journey.

Through the post, she shares that a new chapter is soon to begin. Right after the closure of My 2 Cents, she will transition into a full-service catering operation. There is more to this remarkable chef’s journey, and she is only getting started.

Transitioning to Catering

Chef Alisa Reynolds is now preparing for the new chapter of her journey. As My 2 Cents closes its dine-in doors, catering services will now be in full swing. Her full-service catering operation will be accompanied by the development of her product line.

She explains her wish to continue sharing her story through her line of products and merchandise. The goal is to bring her signature flavors to audiences beyond the restaurant’s walls. The brand is just getting started, and Reynolds hints at more to come.

Message to the Community

Via social media, she also thanks the community for their support throughout the years. A message of gratitude for everyone who has supported the restaurant opens the post.

“First and foremost — THANK YOU. Whether you’ve been with us for years or just found us through a plate of peach cobbler or an Instagram scroll, your support will always be the heartbeat of everything we do.”

Over the past 12 years, the LA community has been with the restaurant through thick and thin. Offering their services to this community has been a proud moment for the team. Now, as the dine-in journey comes to an end, she prepares for a new chapter. This time, the delicious flavors will be brought to the people through the catering services.

“Twelve years later, I’m proud to say we fed the city with love, one plate at a time. As we close our dine-in chapter, we’re expanding our catering services to bring our way of signature flavors to more offices, private events, celebrations, and community tables across Los Angeles.”

A Call for the Last Dinner

Reynolds is inviting guests to join her for one final evening of dine-in service before the transition. But the invite ends with just the last service day on July 31. It continues to August 1, when the new chapter of My 2 Cents begins.

On Friday, August 1, from 6 pm to 10 pm, a special celebration will be held. Guests will raise a toast to the memories and legacy built over the past decade. It is also a preview of the brand’s next chapter and cannot be missed. So gather up and head to 5583 W Pico Blvd, and enjoy the festivities at My 2 Cents LA.
