Maiden: Fine Plants & Spirits Closed Abruptly
Maiden, which opened at 1216 6th Ave in 2023, offered a vegan multicourse menu in an upscale setting. However, the restaurant was unexpectedly locked out of its space and is now permanently closed.
On July 8, 2025, the Maiden team took to Instagram to announce the news. The restaurant team cited financial struggles and unsustainable operating costs as the reasons for closing. The last six months were tough for Maiden as rising costs, low foot traffic, and economic issues impeded the growth, like many other small businesses. The restaurant fell behind on rent, and attempts to renegotiate the lease were unsuccessful.
The building’s management reportedly locked out the restaurant without notice, leading to an abrupt closure. The team has since moved on to other opportunities and expressed appreciation to the community in an emotional farewell post. The post read, “We don’t know yet what comes next. But we’re still here. And we still believe in cruelty-free cuisine. Thanks for 2 amazing years.”
Maiden stood out for bringing upscale, plant-based dining to Fort Worth, quickly becoming a destination for vegan food enthusiasts. Despite its brief run, the restaurant contributed to Fort Worth’s growing plant-based dining scene.
Maiden was a home where one can feel safe, visible, and fed. The team is proud of what they created and will remain eternally thankful to all the people who visited the place.
