According to a recently submitted permit application, a new concept listed as Prickly Pear is gearing up to debut at the San Antonio International Airport next spring.
Located at 9800 Airport Boulevard, the fast-casual eatery will land at the aerodrome alongside newcomers such as 2M BBQ, Bakery Lorraine, and the wine bar The Tasting Room.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Maja Dragojevic, Senior Project Manager at Paradies Lagardère, to inquire about the company’s plans for the upcoming restaurant; however, she could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing reveals that the “new tenant finish-out in existing airport space” is scheduled to begin on October 1, 2025, and is expected to be completed on March 2. The Dallas-based firm NCA Partners-Architecture will manage the project, and the renovations will cost an estimated $615,500.
For readers who are unfamiliar with Paradies Lagardère, the now international business was founded by brothers Jim and Dan Paradies in 1960 in Atlanta and “work[s] closely with airports to tailor their program and bring popular brands that elevate their retail offerings,” according to its website.
Acquired by the Lagardère Group in 2015, the North American division presently has a “retail and dining presence of 850 stores and 170 restaurants and bars in more than 100 airports.”
