A cafe that stands out from the herd is getting ready to begin work on a new DFW location. Black Sheep Coffee has submitted the paperwork for a fresh Denton storefront, and locals will likely be able to enjoy a cup of java from the chain before the year is out.

Black Sheep will be renovating a space at 26912 University Avenue Suite 100 into its next area home. Paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation suggests that the work required will not be too extensive; while the project is slated to begin on July 25, it is projected to wrap by August 31.

These projections do not provide a precise opening timeline; however should the construction commence as planned, it is likely that Black Sheep will be ready for customers at some point this fall.

The UK favorite was founded in 2013. The vast majority of the chain’s stores are still concentrated in England; however Black Sheep has a special relationship to the DFW-the brand opened its first US store in Plano in 2024.

The coffee, of course, is the star of the show, however Black Sheep has more to offer than just a great cup of joe. The website explains: “Our shops cater to all types of dietary requirements and preferences. From our world-famous Norwegian waffles to classic treats like raisin danish, chocolate cookies, and croissants. We offer a diverse selection of organic smoothies, vegan-friendly smoothie bowls, pastries, cakes, and so much more! Our bakers use only the freshest ingredients to create each pastry, ensuring that every bite is filled with flavor and quality.”
