Timeless classy Chinese food is expanding its footprint in Frisco. According to public filings, MiYa Chinese plans to open a second Dallas-Fort Worth location at 5302 Dallas Parkway, Suite 500, inside The Mix development in Frisco.
What Now Dallas spoke with co-founder David Romano who said he expects the restaurant to open toward the end of the first quarter of 2027.
MiYa first opened in East Dallas’ Casa Linda Plaza in late 2024, a location What Now Dallas reported on before it opened and which went on to win Best Chinese Restaurant in Dallas.
Romano said that Casa Linda neighborhood identity is exactly what drew the brand to Frisco, as Frisco’s residential density made it a better fit than a more transient retail corridor.
“We’re located in an area called Casa Linda that is neighborhood-based and focused. So what we do really well is we get involved with the neighborhood, and we become everyone’s neighborhood place to go,” he told What Now Dallas.
Romano confirmed MiYa has two more DFW locations in the pipeline beyond Frisco: one in Fort Worth and another at Preston Road and Park Boulevard in Plano, both with leases signed and expected to open within the next 18 months to two years.
At the new location, Romano said guests can expect the same made-to-order approach that built MiYa’s following in Casa Linda.
“We do dumplings to order where you can see them being made, hand-pulled noodles, and traditional Chinese dishes with the highest-quality ingredients,” he told What Now Dallas, adding that everything is made fresh from scratch.
MiYa is locally owned and led by Romano and business partner Jia Huang, who is from China. Romano described the partnership as blending an American dining atmosphere with intentional, authentic Chinese cooking, a mix that has also drawn guests from far beyond the local area.
“We get people that come to our current location now that travel in from Oklahoma,” he said, crediting social media and word of mouth.
Romano said the brand’s approach to hospitality is central to that draw. “We don’t treat our customers like they’re customers. We treat them like they’re family coming into our home to dine.”
