The studio will open at 4925 Auburn Ave. in Bethesda on Saturday, September 27. The opening celebration at The Bunny Hive will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Families across the DMV area can reserve a complimentary 1-hour time slot. During their reserved hour, children can enjoy playtime, snacks, and arts and crafts activities.
Now spanning ten states, The Bunny Hive is designed to help caregivers enjoy quality time with their little ones in a supportive setting. The Bunny Hive offers a range of 30-minute classes for kids from two weeks old through kindergarten. Offerings include art, toddler ballet, baby massage, music, sensory play, and more.
Silver Spring resident and mom of two, Jordan Smith, owns the Bethesda studio. Smith saw the power of community while leading local yoga studios focused on connection and well-being. Her experiences in studio management and marketing, and inspiration from motherhood, pushed her to help Bethesda families through the new space.
“After having my first daughter, I immediately felt the need for community during that major life transition,” said Jordan. “I wanted to create a space in Bethesda where parents can connect, feel supported, and build friendships that last beyond the early years.”

The Bethesda studio’s main space, ‘The Hive,’ features play tents, cushioned blocks, ball pits, dress-up items, slides, and more. Its studio room has a toddler bar for classes, including kid-sized tables that offer a home-like setting. Other highlights include a diaper changing station and a bathroom.
Apart from the daily classes, the Bethesda studio offers seasonal events. Some examples include a Halloween social, Easter celebrations, story time with Santa, and a daddy-daughter Valentine’s dance. Experts at the social club may offer insights into nutrition and sleep.
Timings, Membership, and Rentals
The studio will be open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sundays, locals can visit the social club from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Bethesda families can select from membership, drop-in, or class pack options. Founding memberships are available for $225 per month and include unlimited classes. This membership applies to entire families and offers 50% off on premium events.
During baby showers, birthdays, and more, Bethesda families can use the social club for private event rental. On Saturdays, they can use the space after 1 p.m. and for the whole day on Sundays. The space can be rented for $900 per three-hour session, which includes full studio access and on-site staff support. Each additional hour is $300.
Brittany Schmid and Katy Doar founded the social club in 2019. Since its founding, The Bunny Hive has been praised for its warm, inclusive culture and thoughtfully designed space.
