About Elephant & Castle
The popular West Village staple opened its doors in 1973. The name ‘Elephant & Castle’ was inspired by a London traffic circle that once housed a pub called ‘Enfanta de Castile.’ Through the years, it developed into a much-loved breakfast/brunch place for NY residents.
Signature dishes have included Chef’s Scottish Salmon of the Day, Tuna Salad with Guacamole and Tomato, and the Elephantburger. The restaurant later expanded into Dublin in 1989, and it continues to operate regardless of the NYC closure.
Known for its popular brunch offerings and welcoming neighborhood atmosphere, Elephant & Castle leaves behind decades of memories for local diners.
