A global tea sensation is blossoming in Chinatown.

Molly Tea, a modern Shenzhen, China-born tea brand, is opening its first Massachusetts location in the former Liyin Rice Roll space at 67 Beach St, according to a post within the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group. The shop’s Google Business page also lists this address, though it incorrectly labels the neighborhood as “Allston.”

The same Facebook post mentions that a second local Molly Tea is in the works at Novo Marketplace, a new food hall coming to Allston. While this could explain the Google listing mix-up, What Now Boston has not been able to confirm those plans.

Founded by Zhang Bocheng in 2021, Molly Tea has rapidly grown to more than 1,400 locations worldwide. After making its U.S. debut in New York last year, the brand is now ready to introduce Bostonians to its flower-forward menu.

Inspired by the “Four White Flowers of the East” (the Four Gentlemen), Molly Tea uses premium mountain tea leaves infused with fresh blossoms. According to the company’s website, its mission is to “explore all things Jasmine, allowing everyone to see the beauty of Chinese tea culture in their daily lives.”

Guests can expect a variety of floral-leaning milk teas, offered across three distinct series: Fresh Milk Tea, Snowy Whipped Cream, and Fresh Oat Milk Tea. Each beverage is carefully layered with milks, florals, and toppings designed to taste like a bouquet of flavors.

A franchisee for the Chinatown shop told What Now Boston that Molly Tea is expected to open in about a month, before the end of September 2025. He noted that he would share more details soon, so keep an eye out for updates.
