According to a recently submitted permit application, a new boba tea and drink shop, Xing Fu Tang, is gearing up to open in Berkeley.
Coming to 1923 University Avenue — sharing a spot with Masa Ramen Bistro, per the filing — the shop will soon be neighbored by establishments such as Imm Thai Street Food, The Butcher’s Son Vegan Delicatessen & Bakery, and Trader Joe’s.
What Now San Antonio reached out to the location’s franchisee, Tindy Ching, to learn more about her plans for the upcoming outpost; however, she could not provide additional information before publication.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the international tea shop chain, it briefly introduces itself on its website: “Xing Fu Tang (幸福堂), known for making the best hand-crafted brown sugar boba from Taiwan, is finally here in the United States – featuring an open kitchen concept where boba pearls are freshly hand-made hourly and cooked to order for all guests to see what goes into their cups.”
The statement continues, “Xing Fu Tang prides itself in delivering quality products to all guests by using only whole, natural ingredients, instead of artificial syrups and preservatives. All beverages and desserts at Xing Fu Tang are made to order using only high-quality ingredients imported from Taiwan, locally fresh produce, and organic milk.”
Signature menu items include the Brown Sugar Boba Milk — made with freshly caramelized brown sugar boba and topped with brown sugar that is lightly torched, “crème brulee style.”
