Highlights
- City Council approved the design for The People’s Building on August 20, 2025.
- It will be a municipal services hub with community spaces, city offices, and retail opportunities.
- City services will be temporarily relocated during construction, which is expected to occur in phases.
Doraville to Begin Demolition For a New Municipal Services Hub
Doraville City Center at 3760 Park Avenue, Doraville, GA 30340, has taken a step to transform Downtown. It is a community-focused plan for which the City Council approved the design on August 20, 2025. The plan is anchored by The People’s Building, a municipal services hub with a new library, creator studios, and private event space.
Work will proceed in phases; Park Avenue closes beginning Monday, August 25, 2025, to prepare for demolition. Existing municipal buildings will make way for a new municipal services hub with civic, cultural, and community spaces. Temporary fencing and detour signage will be in place; drivers should plan ahead and allow extra time.
What’s Planned for The People’s Building
McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture is the design partner, and Choate Construction will lead construction for the City’s project. Here are the services offered by the new building for people to connect and thrive:
- A new Doraville public library
- Community park
- City Hall and government offices
- Cafe and restaurant space
- Creator studios
- Private event space
“The Doraville City Center is the culmination of more than 20 years of community visioning, planning, and dialogue,” said Mayor Joseph Geierman. “This project represents a true investment in the future that reflects the values and aspirations of our residents.”

During construction, City departments are operating from 2421 Van Fleet Circle, Suite 200, Doraville, GA 30360. The mailing address for City Hall during the transition will be City of Doraville, PO Box 660248, Atlanta, GA 30366.
The following departments are operating at the temporary site:
- Municipal Court
- Police Department
- Code Enforcement
- Permitting and Licensing
- Community Development

The City says the project will centralize services and create a more accessible City Center with room for future retail, dining, and housing.
