According to MySA, a fast-casual concept local to Houston, Mambo Seafood — known for its stir-fried rice plate Mambo Rice and micheladas — plans to debut a new outpost in San Antonio this autumn.
Coming to a 6,500-square-foot spot at 719 Castroville Road, the eatery will land near establishments such as H-E-B and Taqueria Vallarta.
“We know the Westside, specifically Las Palmas, isn’t just a neighborhood; it’s a legacy of families and culture that make San Antonio what it is… We’re honored to become a part of that legacy,” CEO of Mambo Seafood Restaurants, Nuno Lima, shares in a news release.
He adds, “Our goal isn’t just to open a restaurant, but to be a good neighbor and a meaningful part of this community for years to come… That’s why our focus is on hiring from the community we serve, building strong partnerships, and creating a space that truly feels like it belongs to the Westside, as much as it does to the Mambo family.”
For readers who are unfamiliar with the local business’s history, Mambo Seafood was founded in 1996 by Mike Ho, when he opened the flagship location in Houston. It debuted in San Antonio in 2023, and the upcoming Castroville Road outpost will mark its third location in the San Antonio area.
In addition to its customer-favorite stir-fried rice, Mambo Seafood offers ceviche, oysters, seafood cocktails, seafood soup, tacos, and fried or grilled shrimp and fish plates. On the alcoholic beverage menu are margaritas — with five flavors to choose from: chamoy, lime, mango, strawberry, and tamarindo — and micheladas.
Mambo Seafood on Castroville Road is slated to open on September 27. Follow What Now San Antonio on Facebook for updates.
