A community-focused cafe and retail market, described as “the quirkiest cafe meets market,” is planning a second location in downtown Charleston next year.
Odd Duck Market, owned by Jared Hellman and Andrew Hare, will open at 637 Rutledge Ave.
“The cat’s outta the bag…or should we say the duck? Odd Duck Market is spreading its wings downtown early 2026,” the shop shared via Instagram.
The duo launched their original Park Circle outpost to create something distinctly their own.
“A place where you can grab a prosciutto egg bialy, a bottle of natural wine and maybe a rubber duck for your kid. We don’t do sterile, soulless shopping. Our staff actually have personalities, our courtyard feels like a secret garden and our non-alcoholic options are just as good as the boozy ones,” an Instagram post read.
The menu features a variety of coffee drinks, including drip coffee, lattes, matcha and espresso-based beverages, with milk options including whole, oat, almond and coconut. Seasonal and flavored additions are available, including Uplift CBD Tinctures and syrups such as vanilla, mocha, salted caramel and lavender.
Wine and wine cocktails, including mimosas, seasonal spritzes and a sake Bloody Mary, are also offered.
Breakfast options highlight bagels and bialys with eggs, cheese and assorted toppings, vegan and prosciutto choices, smoked salmon bagels and yogurt parfaits. Lunch offerings showcase Italian and turkey focaccias or wraps, hot roast beef and buffalo chicken wraps, and a vegan tempeh BLT.
While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, Odd Duck Market plans an early 2026 debut.
