Waffle Sensations, the popular mobile waffle shop, announced on Instagram it’s taking its business to the next level with its first brick-and-mortar location.

“This is a dream come true, and we couldn’t have done it without YOU! From everyone who stopped by the truck, to those who liked a post, left a comment, or told a friend about us. Every bit of love and support has helped us get here. We’re forever grateful!” the Instagram post read.

The shop founded by KJ Dozier is ready to make a sweet impression at Citadel Mall.

Waffle Sensations serves up waffles on a stick with creative toppings. Signature favorites include “Bacon All The Rules,” topped with maple drizzle and crispy smoked bacon; “A 1st Grader Did It,” piled high with rainbow sprinkles, white chocolate chips, sugar sprinkles and a sweet drizzle; and “You Want S’More?” loaded with marshmallows, chocolate drizzle and graham cracker crumbles.

They also have a build-your-own waffle bar, where customers can pile on toppings like Fruity Pebbles, chocolate chips, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and sweet drizzles. Additionally, they serve ice cream bowls topped with a waffle cone and its “Sensational Lemonade,” available in flavors such as peach, sour candy, watermelon and blue raspberry.

Dozier drew inspiration from his grandmother, Rosa Lee Gamble, who was known for her desserts, pies, pastries, cobblers and cakes. In the early 2000s, her passion for baking led the family to open a bakery called Sweet Sensations, according to Waffle Sensations’ website.

“For young KJ, Sweet Sensations was more than just a family business-it was a playground of dreams. Whether he was delivering orders to tables, pouring drinks, or proudly handing out flyers to promote the bakery, KJ embraced the magic of running a business. He may have been small, but his entrepreneurial spirit was mighty, and the lessons he learned during those early days planted the seeds for his future,” the website reads.

Though Sweet Sensations closed, Dozier’s passion for baking didn’t fade. He combined his grandmother’s beloved desserts with his own inventive waffle creations, crafting a new culinary sensation.

An official date for Waffles Sensations has not yet been announced, however, a post on social media read: “This is only the beginning, and we’ll keep you updated every step of the way — all the way until we set the official grand opening date!”

What Now Charleston reached out to the team, however, they have not yet responded. This article may be updated.
