Urban Bird likes it hot, their chicken that is, and apparently so does Texas! The Nashville-style hot chicken concept is opening yet another location in San Antonio, this time at 8802 Potranco Rd. Ste. 11.

This will be the third location in Alamo City for the fast-food chicken joint, according to the San Antonio Business Journal. Urban Bird Hot Chicken recently announced plans to open a location on La Cantera Parkway by the end of the year. Owner, Brandon Gawthrop, tells What Now San Antonio that the Potranco Road location will open early next year.

Brandon and his wife, Chantel, founded the Texas-based hot chicken chain at the height of the pandemic. Five years later and the chain has expanded to 28 locations, including the two to come.

“We want to continue growing,” Chantel and Brandon shared with What Now SA.

Known for its Halal-certified, antibiotic-free, hormone-free Nashville-style hot chicken, the brand has become a household name in Texas as the hot chicken craze continues to boom. What sets this couple-operated business apart is the unique offerings like Hot Cheeto mac and cheese and fries topped with tenders, macaroni and cheese, pickles, and the house sauce. It makes your mouth hot in all the right ways just thinking about it.

Well, keep salivating and make sure you stay hydrated because Urban Bird is bringing the heat to San Antonio, and the establishment doesn’t appear to be stopping anytime soon.

An official opening date for the new Urban Bird Hot Chicken that is set to spring up at 8802 Potranco Rd. Ste. 11 early next year has yet to be announced. But keep your eyes on your timelines and your ears perked for the latest on this eatery’s grand opening.
