The beloved Starland Cafe in Savannah is being “reimagined with a new name, a vibrant location, and the same passion for honest food and good company,” the cafe shared on Facebook.

Pritchard & Co., named after local chef Michael Rusty Pritchard, will open at 207 W. Broughton St.

“He had Starland Cafe which was the first restaurant in the Starland District that opened about 35 years ago. He operated for 30 years and then decided he wanted to retire and only be consulting. He reached out to me and we partnered together. We’re opening the cafe on Broughton St. named after him,” Jay Trikha told What Now Charleston.

The new cafe will feature the chef’s signature dishes infused with Savannah flavors, offering a brunch-and lunch-inspired menu of soups, sandwiches and salads.

“He has a lot of recipes that are cult favorites,” Trikha said. “He has this kitchen sink salad that people fly to Savannah once a year just to eat his food. There’s Thai chili soup. There’s meatball sandwiches that I can’t even begin to explain the flavors of.”

The Kitchen Sink salad has grilled asparagus, dates, golden raisins, marinated artichokes, green apples, red grapes, crunchy rice noodles, grape tomatoes and red onions, topped with buttermilk dressing.

Pritchard & Co. will also feature a curated coffee program in partnership with a Statesboro roastery importing and roasting the beans locally.

“We’re very excited. This is more chic, modern coffee with a touch of Savannah,” he said.

Inside, the cafe will feature a clean design accented with shades of white and green. Trikha said it’s an ideal spot for those working from home to grab a bite, enjoy a coffee and get some work done.

“It’s a simple design inside. It’s more about letting the coffee and the food talk,” he said.

Pritchard & Co. is expected to debut at the end of 2025, though the official date has not yet been announced. Visit the cafe’s website and follow its Facebook page for updates.
