Genero’s Deli, a new eatery from Ian and Margaret Marks, is getting ready to open in Sebastopol at 6760 McKinley Street, Suite 120.

The upcoming deli will move into the former home of The Farmer’s Wife, located in The Barlow, a popular shopping and dining destination, according to a recent liquor license application. Co-owner Ian Marks tells What Now San Francisco that the team is targeting a soft opening around mid-January 2026. While additional details about the concept have not yet been announced, customers can expect a classic deli experience, likely with a menu of sandwiches and traditional fare based on the name.

This project marks a fresh addition to Sebastopol’s food scene, though it is unrelated to the now-closed Giovanni’s Italian Delicatessen, which previously operated at a different address in the city. Genero’s will join a growing number of food and beverage options in The Barlow, a 12.5-acre open-air marketplace known for its artisan-focused retail and culinary offerings.

The new deli will be positioned near established neighborhood draws like Region wine bar, Crooked Goat Brewing, and Acre Pizza, all of which help create steady foot traffic within the shopping center. The Barlow continues to attract both locals and visitors with its mix of local producers, eateries, and tasting rooms.

Further information about Genero’s Deli’s menu, concept, or hours is expected to be shared closer to opening.
