A popular Italian restaurant is preparing to make its triumphant return to Midtown. Little Italy is moving back into the very space it vacated in 2023 and will be ready to greet customers next month, reports local media outlet Daily Memphian.

The beloved concept will be re-opening at 1495 Union Avenue following a thorough cleaning and some minor renovations. Little Italy received its certificate of occupancy for the location in September; according to that paperwork filed with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development, the facility spans 2,400 square feet and has an occupancy load of 49.

Little Italy co-owner Giovanni Caravello assures fans eager to enjoy the restaurant’s fare and atmosphere that it will remain the same great concept they initially came to love. He states: “We’re happy to be back. I know the community has been asking for us to be back that way, and we are happy to serve them again.”

Little Italy has been a Memphis institution since it launched in 2004. It has additional locations open in East Memphis and Downtown and draws fans back repeatedly thanks to its approach to the cuisine. The website explains: “Little Italy is a celebration of the rich cultural exchange between New York, Italy and Memphis. Our menu showcases a variety of classic New York Style pizzas, traditional made to order pastas, along with some sacred family recipes. At Little Italy everything is always made with the freshest locally sourced and specially imported ingredients.”
