Maxi Mini LLC has filed paperwork with the community board for a new concept at 41 Essex St., according to documents. The space on the Lower East Side formerly belonged to Rabbit House Omakase & Sake Bar.
The new concept, whose name is listed as “pending,” will be a wine bar. It will offer cafe and bakery items during the day and Asian fusion small plates in the evening. Paperwork indicates plans for vinyl listening, as well.
The daytime menu features items such as lunch toasts, matcha, espresso, sparkling iced tea and caffeinated and herbal teas. The nighttime menu will offer items like cheese plates, olives, kimchi garlic butter grilled cheese and truffle toast alongside wine and soju mixed drinks.
Plans call for six indoor tables and 40 seats and one bar with seven stools. The proposed hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily.
Matthew Royce and David Wynn are the owners behind the forthcoming wine bar. Attempts to reach ownership prior to publication were unsuccessful. As of now, the opening timeline remains unclear.
