Celebrating “20 Years of Happy,” Mendocino Farms is a sandwich and salad shop where “your favorite food experience awaits.” Boasting dozens of locations in locales like Los Angeles, Orange County, and Seattle, the brand is building out its presence in the Austin market, where it already has two restaurants in operation.
This week, What Now came across documents submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that show a new Mendocino Farms planned for 1100 S Lamar Blvd in Austin. It’s a $675,000 project with plans to start construction at the end of April and finish in mid-October.
At this location, as at Austin’s other two Mendocino Farms, you’d be able to enjoy Chef’s Specials like the Honey Buffalo Krispie Wrap (chicken, Mendo’s krispies, carrot & celery slaw, Kumato tomatoes, avocado, baby spinach, blue cheese, buffalo ranch, honey buffalo hot sauce, on tortilla), the Spicy Calabrian Turkey Focaccia (roasted turkey, Mama Lil’s sweet hot peppers, shaved parmesan, sweet onion, tomatoes, arugula, Calabrian chile vinaigrette & aioli, on toasted focaccia), and the Season GOAT with Pink Lady Apples salad (chicken, goat cheese, pink lady apples, dried cranberries, honey roasted almonds, pickled red onions, shaved fennel, fresh mint, romaine, kale, mixed greens, farmhouse vinaigrette, hot citrus honey).
“Where happy is the main ingredient,” begins a description on the Mendocino Farms website’s Our Story page. “At Mendocino Farms, your favorite food experience awaits. Our creative sandwiches, salads and more take you on an unexpected culinary adventure with fresh ingredients and fearless flavor combinations.”
Opening in the South Lamar Boulevard location, Mendocino Farms would join a restaurant community that includes Odd Duck, Gibson Street Bar, Merit Coffee, Soto, and more.
