One of Montgomery County’s most vital and distinctive eateries is preparing to feed even more hungry residents in 2026. K2 Cafe is bringing its beloved Himalayan-style cuisine to a new location in Clarksburg, reports local media outlet MoCo Show.

The restaurant is debuting its second location at 23335 Frederick Road in the Clarksburg Market. K2 is already a hit in its first home in Poolesville, and existing fans of the concept can rest easy knowing that owners Nichole Hodges-Abbasi and Ashar Abbasi have no intentions of altering the menu and model that has made K2 so beloved.

K2 announced its new home via social media four days ago. The post does not provide a comprehensive opening timeline, saying instead that it will be “coming to Clarksburg in early 2026”.

K2 prepares its delectable cuisine with fresh halal ingredients. The menu is designed to be a reflection of the cultures of the couple at the restaurant’s heart-Ashar comes from Pakistan while Nichole hails from upstate New York. The website explains: “Inside K2, you’ll find little pieces of both of them everywhere: the diverse menu that honors both cultures by intertwining flavors, the welcoming décor, and the warm, down-to-earth neighborhood feel that surrounds the space from the moment you walk in.”
