Yemeni coffee company, Haraz Coffee House, is opening a Miami shop.

Coffee Trends Miami LLC recently filed applications with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open a shop at 400 SW 107 Avenue, close to Florida International University. According to franchise partner, Ahmed Alsaidi, the shop should be open mid-March. Haraz is also opening a Pembroke Pines (15817 Pines Blvd) location in the next few weeks

Haraz Coffee House was founded by Hamzah Nasser in Dearborn, Michigan with a goal to blend, “rich traditions with modern tastes”, according to its website. The coffee shop has now grown to more than 30 locations throughout the U.S. This will be the first Miami-area shop.

Haraz Coffee specializes in  coffee from the Haraz Mountains in Yemin. The beans are prized for their complex flavor profile with aromas of chocolate, dried fruits, and spices. The coffee shop grinds and brews its own unique blends of coffee beans, and offers beans for purchase. Haraz also sells coffee equipment and teaches classes on the art of coffeemaking.

The shop also serves traditional Yemeni beverages such as zanjabeel (ginger tea), sahlab (a rich, warm milk-based drink), cardamom-spiced chais, and mint tea along with espresso drinks like flat whites and lattes. The cafe also sells honeycomb cakes, baklava, croissants, and bee bites — a Yemeni pastry filled with cream cheese and drizzled with honey.
