In May of Last year, Bastrop City Council met to discuss plans for a new project called Zavodny Food Court. The question then being discussed was whether to approve a license-to-encroach agreement that would allow the proposed food court to “encroach into the Public Utility Easement to place mobile food trailers close to Cedar Street.”

The proposal was then approved.

At the time, plans for Zavodny Food Court in Bastrop escaped our notice. This week, however, a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shed some new light on the project.

In keeping with the filing, Zavodny Food Court would begin construction at 1615 Cedar Street. The construction, which carries an estimated cost of $189,000, would be completed on June 1.

What Now reached out on Wednesday to Curtis Zavodny, who is behind Zavodny Food Court, to ask about plans for the project. Zavodny was not immediately available for comment, which means we’ll have to keep our eyes peeled for more details.

Opening in the Cedar Street location, at the intersection with State Highway 95, Zavodny Food Court will be situated in the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts.

Stay tuned for more info as it becomes available!
