A fresh-baked addition is on the horizon for Burlington.
JulieAnne’s Bakery & Cafe is set to debut at The Shoppes at Simonds Park, located at 154 Cambridge St, Unit 3A, following recent approval from the Select Board. According to The Daily Times Chronicle, the café is the creation of local resident Julie Lewis, a professionally trained baker.
Lewis studied at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts’ Professional Baking and Pastry Program and previously served as bakery manager at Wegmans in Burlington. She also brings valuable experience from her time as senior pantry manager at People Helping People, the nonprofit behind the Burlington Food Pantry.
At JulieAnne’s, everything will be made from scratch. The bakery menu will feature breakfast pastries, muffins, scones, cookies, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, quiche, seasonal pies, and custom cakes. A simple lunch menu will include soups and sandwiches crafted with care.

Coffee and espresso drinks will be sourced from Peabody-based Atomic Coffee Roasters, complemented by teas, smoothies, and other café staples. The menu is designed with inclusivity in mind, offering gluten-free, nut-free, and health-conscious options.
The 2,180-square-foot café will seat about 46 guests and offer both dine-in and takeout service, with catering available for private events. The space is designed to be warm and welcoming, perfect for lingering over coffee, meeting friends, or working remotely in a cozy, casual atmosphere.
JulieAnne’s will also offer special experiences, including private events for parties or meetings, and a traditional English-style full-service afternoon high tea on Sundays, available by reservation.
“This is an independent, woman-owned business and my hope and dream is for it to be a cozy gathering place for the community,” Lewis told What Now Boston.
If all goes according to plan, JulieAnne’s Bakery & Cafe will debut on May 15, 2026. For the latest, be sure to follow the bakery on Instagram and Facebook.
