Chicago flavors and some of the best hot dogs in the country are blowing into a new DFW location. Frisco diners who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of Portillo’s won’t have to wait much longer; the eatery is set to open in the area this spring, reports Community Impact.

The beloved Chicago-based chain is bringing its “Restaurant of the Future” design to a newly constructed 6,250 square foot storefront at the Northwest corner of Gordon Heights Lane and FM 423. Prospective visitors may justifiably be wondering just what the “Restaurant of the Future” actually looks like-luckily a press release provided to What Now Dallas offers some clarity. In addition to a 500 square foot outdoor patio for al fresco dining, “The smaller-footprint efficient build offers seating for about 120 guests, as well as the brand’s signature double drive-thru lanes, Portillo’s Pick-Up shelves and Grab and Go area to accommodate off-premises guests.”

Frisco diners will be able to enjoy all the cuisine that has made Portillo’s such a success across markets, including “Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Char-Grilled Burgers and Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake.”

Locals with stomachs already rumbling for Portillo’s fare can rest easy-the countdown till opening is officially on. While a precise opening date is not yet available, the restaurant will be ready to greet and feed customers in late April.
