A “tiny but mighty” microbrewery and retro arcade is set to level up Springfield this summer.

Battle Royale Brewing Co., owned by husband-and-wife duo Matthew and Stephanie Courchain, will debut at 21 E. Springfield Rd.

The Courchains describe themselves as “just a couple of elder millennial parents who are also big lovers of beer, music, all things ’80s and ’90s, and have been Springfield residents for the past 10 years!” the website reads.

They are actively building out the space and, as “avid DIYers,” are handling the renovations themselves.

Battle Royale Brewing Co. will feature at least 10 vintage arcade games, roughly 15 customer seats and six to 10 TVs, four of which will be connected to a Nintendo Switch for patrons to play on, according to The Philadelphia Business Journal.

The microbrewery will offer beer, seltzers and nonalcoholic beverages, including birch beer and root beer.

The outlet reported the brewery will feature a two-barrel system with equipment from Ruby Street Brewing. It will also include a “dirty seltzer” bar, where customers can choose from a variety of flavors to add to the team’s house-brewed, unflavored seltzers.

A snack bar will offer light bites, and guests are also welcome to order from nearby restaurants.

While an official opening date has not been announced, once open the new hangout will operate from 3 p.m. to midnight on weekdays and from noon to midnight on weekends.

Visit the Battle Royale Brewing Co. website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates on the build-out and grand opening.
