Layne’s Chicken Fingers is continuing its San Antonio expansion with two more locations set to come to the region before the end of the year. The brand made its San Antonio debut in Seguin as part of a 14-store deal with franchisee Dylan White. Now, Layne’s Chicken Fingers franchisee, Eli Cohen, shared that he’s embarking on opening a slew of stores throughout the state as well.
In an interview with What Now San Antonio, Cohen shared that he will be opening two locations in the Greater San Antonio region this year. One is slated to open in the Far West Side of San Antonio near Champions Park at 1604 Marbach. The other is expected to open along the SW Military Drive corridor at 742 SW Military Dr.
“We are excited to see the SA market growing,” Layne’s Chicken Fingers CEO, Garrett Reed, told What Now San Antonio via text.
“Both my mom and dad grew up in SA, so it’s a special market for my family and me.”
Reed recently closed a 14-store deal with White.
“So we’re just getting started,” Reed said of the deal.
Reed shared that Cohen currently has three stores in development in the Greater San Antonio area and another three in Lubbock, Texas.
“San Antonio is one of the most exciting markets in Texas right now, and we’re going all-in. We hold the largest development agreement in Layne’s history, and San Antonio is a centerpiece of that plan,” the C5 Restaurants Managing Partner shared.
“By the time we’re done, this is going to be one of our most significant markets.”
The menu is mouthwatering yet simple. Of course, the chicken fingers are the bedroom of this hen house. Customers can get them in a sandwich, in a wrap, or in a box meal on its own. Layne’s Chicken Fingers come spicy or original with a selection of six different sauce options to pair them with.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers first hatched in 1994, as the website details. Reed shared that he and his family bought the brand in 2017. After 4-5 years, the family felt that the brand was ready to franchise, so Layne’s Chicken Fingers began franchising in 2020-2021. Reed said they’ve sold almost 400 locations, and nearly 50 are currently under construction.
“We’ve built a strong operation in West Texas, and we’re bringing that same approach to San Antonio — local ownership, invested in the community for the long haul. Leon Valley is just the beginning,” Cohen said.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers is anticipated to open two more locations in the region this year: 1604 Marbach and 742 SW Military Dr.
