Facing more than $1 million in unsecured claims, the company filed for Chapter 11 on April 20, 2026. Around 20 unsecured creditors who are not insiders have made claims against Smiley Aesthetics HoldCo, LLC. Among them, pharmaceutical company AbbVie Inc. has made the largest claim of more than $400,000.
According to RK Consultants, the proceedings are currently being held in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Attorney R. Alex Payne of Dunham Hildebrand Payne Waldron, PLLC, is the legal counsel in the case.

The petition, signed by Carla Pierson, the company’s chief of business and operations, notes that an affiliated entity also filed for bankruptcy.
