Located on the southeast corner of the intersection of US Highway 19 and Main Street in Clearwater, the Countryside Mall appears to be adding a new locally owned restaurant to its food and drink roster.
According to plan review documents submitted by JBE 101 LLC, Jimmy Blue Eyes will open at 27001 US Highway 19 N, Suite 1140.
Behind the concept are Ryan and Mark Johnston. What Now reached out to Ryan Johnston on Monday to ask about plans for Jimmy Blue Eyes. Johnston was not immediately available for comment.
This leaves us guessing for the moment on the menu to be served at Jimmy Blue Eyes. However, a quick Google search for the restaurant turns up a page on MapQuest that refers to a “Jimmy Blue Eyes Taco & Tequila” restaurant. So we could be looking at a taco and tequila spot joining the mall.
That would be an interesting combination with the name, which appears to refer to New York mobster Vincent “Jimmy Blue Eyes” Alo, who had connections in Miami and Cuba.
Opening at the Countryside Mall, Jimmy Blue Eyes would join a restaurant community that includes Cajun Cafe, the Cheesecake Factory, Tropical Smoothie Cafe, Bacon Street Diner, and more.
