According to a recent liquor license filing, Goban Korean BBQ is preparing to open its first U.S. location in Downtown Bellevue. The restaurant is planned for 1015 103rd Ave. NE in Bellevue, with ownership listed under Donghee Pi.
Inspired by Goban’s established locations in South Korea, including its flagship in Seoul’s Mapo district, the concept is bringing an authentic Korean BBQ experience centered on traditional recipes, premium meats and interactive table grilling to the Eastside.
The company says the name Goban translates to “excellent meal,” a philosophy reflected throughout its menu and dining approach, with dishes rooted in Korean culinary craftsmanship and longstanding traditions.
Guests can expect a menu built around Korean BBQ staples such as pork belly, beef ribeye, combo platters, banchan spreads, stews, hot pots and traditional beverages like soju. The dining concept centers on carefully selected beef and pork, signature marinades developed in Korea and a hands-on grilling format that allows guests to cook at their own pace.
To complement that tableside approach, the Bellevue restaurant will feature advanced downdraft ventilation systems designed to create a cleaner, smoke-free dining environment, while staff will be available to guide guests through the grilling process when desired.
The Bellevue opening represents a major step for the brand, marking Goban’s first U.S. location. Construction is currently underway, though an official opening timeline has not yet been announced.
