Some of the hottest culinary news out of the DMV is coming courtesy of a beloved Texas institution. Buc-ee’s, a travel center well known for its delicious cuisine and incredibly clean bathrooms, has received approval to bring its signature customer service and dining to a new Stafford County location, reports the Washington Business Journal.
The 74,000 square foot storefront will be located between I-95 and Austin Ridge Road. Buc-ee’s will have 120 fuel pumps and over 800 parking spaces to accommodate visitors.
While an opening timeline is not presently available for Buc-ee’s Stafford location, its recent approval from the Stafford County Board of Supervisors bodes well for the arrival of the chain’s new DMV location-and many will note that it’s a long time coming. The concept’s application has been under review for over two years.
Founded in 1982, Buc-ee’s has become something of a cultural phenomenon. The chain is heralded for its immaculately clean restrooms, while diners are drawn to its impressive hot foods menu, including barbecue, pulled pork, and brisket.
